| چکیده | ||
| With regard to the distribution of members of two species of scorpions with dangerous and medically important venom in the central areas of Sistan & Baluchestan province, the fauna of scorpions in Saravan city and its surrounding areas were investigated. The scorpions were collected using ultraviolet light at night and direct search under stones, logs, and tree trunks daytimes during 2022-2023. Examining the samples led to the identification of six species belonging to six genera and two families, including: Androctonus orientalis (Birula, 1900), Mesobuthus macmahoni (Pocock, 1900), Odontobuthus tirgari Mirshamsi, Azghadi, Navidpour, Aliabadian & Kovarik, 2013, Orthochirus sp., Razianus farzanpayi Tahir, Navidpour & Prendini, 2014 (family Buthidae) and Hemiscorpius persicus (Birula, 1903) (family Hemiscorpiidae). Mesobuthus macmahoni and Razianus farzanpayi are new records for the fauna of Iran. Identifying dangerous species, Androctonus orientalis and Hemiscorpius persicus, and determining their distribution range is crucial for educating local people and treating cases of scorpion stings. | ||
